Integrity Statement

Braving Beautiful is the journey of one woman and mother learning to carry hard things while still cultivating what is bright and beautiful.

Rooted in my Christian faith and shaped by what I have learned over the past five years, I share my life here in hopes that something along the way might encourage, equip, or inspire you in yours.

Much of those five years were lived publicly through Braving Batten, our family’s rare disease advocacy and support campaign. Our family—and particularly our daughters’ stories—were necessarily at the heart of that work. Braving Batten continues, but Braving Beautiful is something different.

Here, I am the storyteller, but I don’t want to be the destination.

This is my story, not a blueprint. My heart is to champion you—in your own unique life, circumstances, and season—to create something meaningful and uniquely bright and beautiful with the life in front of you.

My husband and children will naturally appear because they are part of my life, but they are not the content of Braving Beautiful. I want to protect what belongs to them while also being mindful of the parasocial nature of sharing life online.

I will strive to share honestly, recommend with integrity, disclose when my work earns income, and keep service above influence.

You don’t need my life. I hope something from mine helps you more fully live yours.
